Today I received a sample Galaxy camera from the head office of Samsung in Mississauga. I have been waiting in anticipation to try the latest in camera technology. My first impression is one of awe. It is a beautify designed camera.
The 4.77″ touch screen is so clear and bright. It seems odd at first that this is a full working android tablet as I see it first as a camera. I feel like a kid in a photography candy store wanting to try everything at once. As a photographer my natural thing to do is to take a photo. The camera feels good to hold and nice weight as well. I left the setting in Smart mode to see what it can do. I like the sound the shutter makes when the button is pressed. I am totally impressed with reproduction of the of mixed lighting in the office. The Smart setting truly is smart. The use of the camera quickly becomes addictive, and I want to shoot more photos and test the Smart setting in more challenging lighting areas. I walked around the office shooting everything, the coffee machine, the vending machine, the buttons in the elevator. Then the 21x zoom, along with the touch screen focusing became the next feature to play with. I shot my fellow workers but I am not posting those photos.
When I arrived home the day had turned into night and this is now the chance to test the Smart setting outside. Just a side note, how come you get a new camera and you want to spend time outside, it’s bloody freezing?
The black and white photo was shot in Smart mode and then use the Photoshop app that I had downloaded to the camera.
These were shot just outside my home.
